Problems with QuickBooks POR, Quickbooks Pro, QuickBooks Accountant Edition. When you installed it run smoothly and after few days it started to say
Administrator Permissions Required
or
This Application Requires Administrator Privileges
or
Administrator Privileges are disabled
or
Not Enough Administrator Privileges
or
QBPOS Server
or
Workstation Server is not running
The solution is here:
You must Enable
Administrator Account
Remember it is not your own Administrator account
but it is actually a built in account in Windows
Operating System. The
following Process is only tested in Windows XP and no other system has been
tried to do the same. You are at your own responsible for the outcomes. The
following process has been performed and found best by me as it solved the
problem every time.
Now first of all I want to explain why this
problem occurred
1.
You Installed the Windows and then made User Accounts (That should have
not been done before you have installed and set permissions for Intuit Quickbooks (pro, 6,
POS, 2011, 2013 etc, for any version the rules are same)
2.
You Installed Windows XP and created no user accounts but later you Used
to create new User account and One Administrator account was automatically
created by Windows itself, which in return disabled your actual built in
Administrator account.
What to do now?
You have to Enable Local Administrator Account
first
Do
the following
How to Enable the
Local Administrator Account on Windows XP
Note Before you enable the local Administrator account, make
sure that there is at least one other local or network user who can gain
access to the computer with administrator permissions. Otherwise, you will
not be able to reverse this action in the future.
If you are unable to see any
administrator account on Logon screen then
On Log on screen Press Ctrl + Alt
+Del, do the same again, which means you have to press this key combination
twice simultaneously.
You will see the log on dialog box
In user name box type “Administrator” (without quotes)
Have a print of this page as you
may require it at next boot.
So when you have completed. Close
all programs. Restart Computer. If you have done everything right now then
your computer is much more secure now, as Children and less literate people
will not be able to log on to your computer as they will only see only TURN OFF COMPUTER option at log-on screen.
To logon you have to Press Ctrl +
Alt +Del, do the same again, which means you have to press this key
combination twice simultaneously.
Now Type your desired account name
to log on. Remember to use Quickbooks you will have to use Administrator Account
or you will see the same message again.
