DEFINITIONS:

1-A noun is the name of a person, place, thing or condition.
2-The name of a person, place, thing or condition is known as a noun.
3-The word used to name anything in universe is called a noun.

For example see these sentences:
Zia is a good boy. (In this sentence Zia is a noun as it represents the name of a person).
I went to Lahore. (In this sentence Lahore is a noun as it represents the name of a place).
These are precious stones. (In this sentence stones are noun as they represent the name of something).
This summer is not too hot. (In this sentence summer is a noun as it represents the name of a condition).
