Definition:
A word, which represents a property or characteristic of an object, a place, a human or animal, is called an adjective.
For example:
Red ribbon
Tall Boy
Giant elephant
Large city

In these examples, red, tall, giant and large are adjectives as they are referring to a specific characteristic of that particular object.

Uses:
Parts of Speech: Adjectives
Adjectives are words used to describe nouns.
Adjectives give more information about a noun.
Use adjectives to make your writing more interesting.

 You can use numbers as adjectives
Examples:    
During last seven years he is got never late.


Adjectives can be used to compare things.
 Examples:   Goats are smaller than elephants. He is most brilliant student of the class.

People usually pronounce ADJECTIVE as "ad-jek-tiw", which is wrong
the two pronunciations, which are right, are given below:
1- ajey.tiw
2- ay-jek-tiw
